The significance of World Environment Day in the midst of a pandemic

Today, June 5th, is World environment day. It was enacted in 1974 to make people more aware of the importance of environmental issues. Every year there is a different theme and this year's theme is biodiversity. "The emergence of COVID-19 has underscored the fact that, when we destroy biodiversity, we destroy the system that supports human life.
