Spearmint is believed to be oldest of the mint family and has a long history of use in Ayurvedic medicine as a skin tonic & in ancient Greece to scent bathwater. It has also been long served with meals for its digestion related properties.
Aroma: Spearmint essential oil has lovely minty aroma, sweeter & milder than peppermint essential oil.
Properties: Physically spearmint essential oil is helpful for digestion. It can also be used to reduce nausea and has been traditionally used for headaches and sinus issues as well as phlegm reduction. It is useful for skin regeneration and improves the appearance of skin. Spearmint oil has cooling antiinflammatory properties.
Spearmint essential oil is stimulating and revitalising. It is very useful for focus and for its sparkling positivity.
It is steam distilled from the leaves & flowering tops.
Blends with: citrus oils, spice oils, clary sage, cypress, eucalyptus, juniper, lavender, marjoram, peppermint & rosemary
Shelf life: It will keep for around 2-3 years if stored with lid tightly closed in a cool, dark area.
