Vetiveria zizanoides Indonesia
Vetiver is a grass which is native to India but is commercially grown in other countries such as Indonesia, Haiti and Madagascar. Vetiver is widely used in perfumery and you probably recognise it in many famous scents.
Aroma: Vetiver essential oil has a nutty, sweet, woody and slightly smoky aroma.
Properties: Physically it is a useful oil for muscular and joint aches and pains.
Vetiver is a very relaxing oil and is useful for sleep and stress. It is grounding
It is steamed distilled from the roots.
Blends with: citrus oils, spice oils, clary sage, cypress, eucalyptus, juniper, lavender, marjoram, rosemary & ylang ylang.
Shelf life: It will keep for around 2-3 years if stored with lid tightly closed in a cool, dark area.
