Aroma: Clary sage has a distinct tea like aroma, herbaceous and slightly floral.
Properties: Clary sage essential oil is a great oil for relaxation, anxiety and stress and gives a feeling of euphoria and is useful for indecision and creativity. It is a good choice for women and the reproductive system. It is useful for muscular spasms.
Clary sage is often characterised as an aphrodisiac.
Blends with: citrus oils, cedarwood, frankincense, geranium, lavender & patchouli.
It is steam distilled from the flowering tops of the plants.
Shelf life: It will keep for around 4-5 years if stored with lid tightly closed in a cool, dark area.
*Clary sage is contraindicated in pregnancy as it is a utero-tonic and thus is indicated in late pregnancy (38+ weeks) and is used in birthing oils.
