Spring time is detox time

A great way to get into the spring season is to do a detox. Winter comfort foods tend to be heavier and more work for the liver to digest. We often tend to eat more junk food in the colder weather as well. Our bodies and organs are pretty incredible at being able to deal with the unhealthy stuff we put in our bodies, but a little support for our bodies goes a long way. A detox can support the liver, kidneys, adrenals and lymphatic system so that our body can function in an optimally healthy way.

The significance of World Environment Day in the midst of a pandemic

Today, June 5th, is World environment day. It was enacted in 1974 to make people more aware of the importance of environmental issues. Every year there is a different theme and this year's theme is biodiversity. Have you ever watched the way most people wash their hands (or been horrified because they don't wash their hands)? Our hands are the parts of our bodies that are in contact with everything. We touch products, we touch food, we touch other people and we touch ourselves, especially our faces. Our hands are one of the most likely places for us to come into contact with germs. In this time of the public health crisis of COVID-19, it is time to reiterate the importance of washing hands and how to wash your hands properly.
